For the Greater Good
At SASA Setton, we believe that bringing together pedagogical knowledge, technological innovation, education, and sensitivity can create real change in children's lives. Guided by this belief, for the past three years we have maintained a deep collaboration with Kibbutzim College of Education as part of the "For the Greater Good" project.
Designing digital learning spaces for children in hospitals
This partnership connects the academic world with our educational and social work on the ground, enabling students to design unique digital learning spaces tailored specifically to the needs of children hospitalized in the educational centers within hospitals. These creations are far more than technological learning tools; for the children, they are spaces of meaning, imagination, and hope. Over our years of working together, we have built a professional infrastructure that makes it possible to turn any hospital room into a space of creativity and connection. In the project's early stages, we focused on deeply studying the unique challenges of learning during hospitalization, and developed multidisciplinary learning spaces that combine creativity and culture.
We take care to ensure that the creations are focused and precisely matched to the needs of the children and educational teams on the ground, with an emphasis on the emotional dimension and on creating opportunities for dialogue, processing experiences, and self-expression through interactive, playful experiences. During 2025, we chose to deepen the project into the world of literacy and children's literature, out of an understanding that stories and words have the power to heal. The students created original virtual learning spaces based on high-quality Israeli children's literature — ones that invite children on a personal journey of imagination and growth. These spaces create an added dimension of learning in which reading becomes not a passive experience but an active and meaningful one, combining critical thinking and creativity. For us, the partnership with Kibbutzim College is a model of shared work in which academic knowledge meets a real need, and together we continue to build spaces that empower children, teams, and communities — for the greater good.
