SASA Setton Activities

A Wide Range of Innovative Projects and Initiatives

SASA Setton leads a wide range of innovative projects and initiatives that combine education, technology and emotional well-being for tens of thousands of hospitalized children in Israel. Every project in the organization stems from a deep pedagogical belief that sees education as a vital part of the healing process, and our goal is to ensure that every child enjoys a routine of learning, growth and hope, even within a complex medical reality.

A Boost of Encouragement: SASA Setton's Program for Promoting Educational Initiatives

The program empowers hospital education teams through professional mentoring and implementation grants, enabling them to develop and lead innovative pedagogical projects that support children's healing process and resilience.

Developing Virtual Reality (VR) Spaces in Partnership with the AMIT Network and Hotam Haim
A technology initiative in which pre-medicine track students design virtual learning environments that make medical procedures accessible through an experiential approach, aiming to reduce anxiety and strengthen young patients' sense of control and confidence.

SASA Setton and Make-A-Wish: Granting Wishes as a Tool for Developing Leadership and Human Values
A partnership that combines giving and education, in which students are full partners in planning and fulfilling dreams for children facing medical and psychiatric challenges, while nurturing empathy, compassion and personal responsibility.

For the Common Good: Designing Digital Learning Spaces in Partnership with the Kibbutzim College
A partnership combining academic knowledge and technological innovation to create learning and literacy spaces based on Israeli children's literature, offering hospitalized children experiences of meaning, imagination and hope.

"Building a World": A Groundbreaking Project for Promoting Literacy, Language and a Love of Reading

SASA Setton's "Building a World" program is a year-long educational journey for second and third graders in hospitals and in the community. Each participant receives a personal kit of ten high-quality hardcover books and workbooks that accompany their learning throughout the school year. The initiative aims to strengthen literacy and a love of reading among children, using Israeli children's literature as a tool for emotional processing and personal expression in a complex reality.

The program promotes emotional, social and cognitive dialogue around the texts, enabling every child to explore their inner world and develop critical and creative thinking. Alongside workbooks and language games, the initiative includes inspiring meetings with authors and creators that turn reading into an active, inspiring experience. For hospitalized children, the encounter with words and stories is an anchor of stability and hope, strengthening their personal resilience during the healing process.
